i was wondering..... if there was an organized and well publicized effort to leave the organization en-masse on a certain date yet to be determined, how many do you think would participate?.
one person leaves the org and it creates a small ripple.

Were organ transplants ever forbidden?
by stillstuckcruz inas an apostate, i'm currently compiling a list of changed doctrines and "new light" changes over the years.
this is mainly for discussing with witnesses in the future.
i feel if i don't present full truth of their own doctrine, they will knock me down and rightfully say that i did not give full infomation(hypocrites much?).

The 1967 article states unequivocally that it is cannibalism. Would a Jehovah's Witness have been brought before a committee for committing cannibalism? No question about it. It was absolutely a disfellowshipping offense to have an organ transplant from 1967 to 1980.

by flipper inas most of us here are aware the wt society is using the " kool-aid " , or witness only version as i call it - to indoctrinate and intimidate jw members through fear and guilt to avoid anything that takes their devotion and attention away from allegiance to the wt society's ambitions.
so the wt society is amping up it's control methods once again in various articles in this issue as well.. first off - notice this quote from page 14 , paragraph 16 , regarding how " dangerous " allegedly the internet is.
it states, " these desires ( of the world ) involve such things as promiscuity, prominence , and possessions.

Overlapping generation segment on the new Circuit Assembly program
by traveb inso there i was at the circuit assembly sunday morning with my eyes glazed over as usual when all of a sudden, bam!
a demo with two brothers talking about the new overlapping generation teaching.
the reason it took me by surprise was because it occured during the second talk of the sunday morning symposium, "sanctify god's name by your speech".

I agree Baltar. I don't recall it ever happening before. And remember, this overlapping generation doctrine was revealed TWO YEARS ago and it is STILL a problem for the rank and file (making it a problem for the GB).

How are things going since my exit?
by discreetslave intoday i got accepted to a christian university and we had an earthquake!!!
the college is located here in va and is the largest christian university in the us.
my husband is worried about the money but the fact that it's liberty u upsets him more.. otherwise things are good between us things are tense on meeting days.

Honestly, I'm glad you're not going to end up at Liberty. That place is fundy-loon paradise.
Have you considered going the (much cheaper) community college route for your first two years and then metriculating to one of the state universities? Transferring from a VA CC you don't need to worry about the same admissions requirements that incoming freshmen do. You end up with the same degree for much less money.

One of the problems the Borg is having right now in this regard is that JDub kids approaching college-age right now were born during the relaxing of the ban on higher education in the 1990s. JW parents had kids during that period fully expecting that their kids wouldn't be subject to the educational limitations that the Watchtower imposed on them and their parents of the previous generations. That generation of JWs is going to be difficult to rein back in by the Borg leadership. It won't be until the reinstituted ban on education (c. 2002-2005) has been in force for 15 years or so that the current JW parents and kids will have been raised with the anti-education attitude.
